Vibrant Roots is a nonprofit organization established with the communities of North Texas in mind. Our purpose is to develop our youth, encourage leadership and seed community growth through advocation for equity and by preserving our history. There is a pressing need to build up our talented youth and to preserve our community heritage; Vibrant Roots is here to continuously accomplish both and become a catalyst for creativity & change.

 The mission of Vibrant Roots shall be committed to seeding community growth, youth development & leadership.

Founder, Alicia Hinkle, is an educator and curriculum writer for Irving ISD. Within Irving ISD, she has developed the curriculum for African American Studies along with teaching the subjects of African American Studies and U.S. History. She has won multiple teacher of the year awards including Region 10 Teacher of the Year in 2019. Additionally, Alicia Hinkle serves the community with the Irving-Carrollton NAACP and received the President’s Award in the Fall of 2018 for her dedication to the Youth Council and service within the community. She is the president of the Irving Association of Texas Professional Educators and quite passionate about service as well as meeting the needs of the community.
